Propose your text as a source text

Are you a talented writer? A great way to stand out and show your work is being the author of the source text in a ProZ.com translation contest. Not only will your name be displayed on the main page, your text will also be translated into dozens of different languages! 

Also, by proposing a source text in your native language, you can help to ensure that others who translate from that language into others can participate in upcoming contests.

What makes a text a good fit for a translation contest?

• There are no previous translations of the text readily obtainable
• It has less than 300 words
• It is rich with sentences or expressions that can be translated in any of a number of ways
• It has a measure of completeness or closure in itself
• It is reasonably challenging, but not too complex
• Its content is of general interest.  It may contain cultural elements that add additional challenge and interest
