ProZ.com today: strengthening opportunities for language professionals

Written by Lucía Leszinsky | May 23, 2025

Let’s be honest: ProZ.com hasn’t always done a great job of communicating what is happening behind the scenes, especially when it comes to the efforts being made to keep job opportunities flowing for language professionals. But that does not mean nothing is happening. Quite the opposite.

A few months ago, a dedicated internal team was created with a clear mission: to attract and support  clients and make sure the jobs they post are better suited to today’s professionals. Every strategy, every action this team takes is rooted in one key belief: professional, human translation remains irreplaceable for anyone seeking high-quality results.

Here is a glimpse of what this new team—and the broader ProZ.com staff—is doing to make that belief visible and sustainable:

  • Daily conversations with clients to help them improve their job postings, understand best practices, and connect with the right professionals through smarter recruiting.
  • One-on-one recruitment and project support, making sure that jobs are not only posted, but that they are clear, fair, and a good match for members.
  • Direct outreach to potential new clients, not just within the language industry, but across other sectors where translation and localization are becoming more essential every day.
  • Close collaboration with the ProZ.com development team to build a new, modern platform designed to make recruitment easy, professional, and accessible for anyone needing language services and anyone offering them.
  • Coordination with the training team to ensure that available courses actually reflect today’s industry demands so professionals can prepare for new types of jobs and challenges.
  • Building new specialist Pools in response to current client needs.
  • Improving site messaging, to make sure job opportunities reach professionals on time and do not get lost in a crowded inbox.
  • Working alongside the ProZ*Pay team, making sure clients are ready to pay linguists anywhere in the world, before they post a job or make an offer. That means fewer payment delays, fewer excuses, and less risk for professionals.

And yes, clients are still coming to ProZ.com. They may check other platforms, but when they want real, professional, human linguists, they come here. They still see this as the best place to find professional language talent.

Don’t just take my word for it. I’ve seen a lot in my 17 years here, and while I stand by what I say, I know it might carry more weight coming from the clients themselves:

And none of this would be possible without the support of ProZ.com’s paying members. It is thanks to that support that we can dedicate people, time, and resources to these efforts. So to those members: thank you!

Some people may say ProZ.com is old.
That ProZ.com is dying.
That ProZ.com is the past.

Well… some would also say:

Let them bark. 😉
