Prompted by the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the ProZ.com team has made several improvements and adjustments to the way personal information can be entered and managed by users of ProZ.com.

* A new page lets you review and manage the consent you have given for processing your personal data: https://www.proz.com/consent-settings

* ProZ.com users have always been able to control what forms of notification they receive, and what sorts of tracking they are subject to. In some cases, however, an option was ticked "on" by default. To address this, wherever there might have been any doubt about whether or not consent was intentionally being given by a user, the interface has been clarified, and the default has been changed to "off". (In connection with this, you may have been asked recently to re-affirm your preference to receive certain forms of email notification.)

* ProZ.com has opted to join the EU-US and Swiss-US Privacy Shield framework: https://www.privacyshield.gov Joining Privacy Shield means that ProZ.com is making a legal commitment to comply with EU and Swiss data protection principles. (This satisfies the need that some of your businesses may have to ensure that your data partners meet adequate data protection standards as required by GDPR and possibly other EU and Swiss regulations.)

Some ProZ.com services are still being updated to comply with GDPR requirements. These changes are expected to be completed by or before May 25, 2018.
