In 2019, ProZ.com celebrates its 20th anniversary and we would like every site user to celebrate with us. How? By proposing a powwow in your city for the last week of August.
What is a powwow?
For those who are not familiar with ProZ.com powwows --+3,000 so far since they started!-- they are informal gatherings of groups of site users living in close proximity, organized by local translators, for local translators.
At powwows, language professionals have the opportunity to meet the people behind profiles, network and socialize. They share a coffee or a meal while introducing themselves to the rest, make announcements, share tips, or speak on a topic. In the past, some organizers have even invited representatives from large clients, or CAT tools vendors, to speak or give demonstrations.
Some powwows have no agenda and no theme, and that is fine, too. Basically, if you are the organizer, it is your event to create. And, yes, families and guests are also welcome!
