Announcing a new series called Global Voices

As you know, works closely with Boostlingo to provide Remote Simultaneous Interpreters (RSI), and we have a whole bunch of unsung heroes who are not only providing vital input to communities and individuals in equally unsung places, but making good money from home, popping up whenever their services are needed in real time.

Over the course of this year, I’ll be interviewing 12 of them, beginning with colleagues in Somalia and Cape Verde. Again, places that we don’t get to hear from that often.

This time the focus will be a little different from the Translation Postcards (which will continue of course). More on the person, their story, and how their life as an interpreter is shaping up.

Time to address the translator/interpreter balance, and to keep raising awareness that we have excellent colleagues not only in the West but all over the world.

These interviews will appear as part of the Facebook group Translators and Interpreters ( and on the blog.
