Some of you may or may not have received an email recently, related to the year-end campaign discounts on membership, training, and software, with a ProZ.com team image that had one extra, rather canine-looking team member added to it. And some of you caught it, and asked about it. The truth is, there is an odd number of people on the team at the moment, so we weren't sure how to best add a team pic with just two rows and have it look neat. So: meet Max.
Max is currently our main non-human companion at the La Plata office. He doesn't do much work, but I guess you could say he's good for moral support.
For the most part he's a quiet, calm companion, but he's quickly battle-ready when co-workers make a sudden movement or exclamation. Also, having been raised with a cat, he doesn't completely understand why he can't climb walls and trees, so when the office's neighborhood cats walk by on the walls, it's us who need to provide moral support to him.
Max kept me company during the International Translation Day virtual conference this year. He says he learned "a lot" (pronounced rrr-roff).
By the way, if you've been with ProZ.com for a while, you probably noticed several new faces in that team pic, not just the dog. We'll be presenting them soon too. But I don't want to take any attention away from Max here, he hates that.
Anyone else out there with non-human office companions? Would you be willing to share? Post your pics here if you have them!
