As we gear up for this year's Giving Tuesday, I found myself looking back at the impact of our previous events. It’s incredible to see how a single day dedicated to generosity can ripple outward, creating lasting change. Whether it was through the funds raised, the awareness built, or the sense of community strengthened, the results have truly inspired us to dream even bigger this year.
Let me take you on a journey through the highlights of our past Giving Tuesday, showcasing the incredible efforts of everyone involved and the lives that were touched because of your generosity.
Building a better future: ProZ and Giving Tuesday
Years before Giving Tuesday officially began in 2012, ProZ was already organizing donation drives to support global initiatives we believed were vital. Over the years, we've worked together as a community to make a difference, supporting efforts that provide education for underserved communities, access to clean water in African villages, reforestation projects, and more.
In 2022, the ProZ community came together to support Ecologi, a platform inspiring and empowering businesses to accelerate global climate action. Thanks to the incredible contributions of our members, we've funded a ProZ.com garden with 3,212 trees, planted in places like Kenya and Tanzania. Today, we're proud to say that together we've created something even bigger—a ProZ forest, grown through the dedication and generosity of our global community!

But Giving Tuesday is about more than trees.
It's about uniting for causes that matter.
By investing their time, knowledge, and efforts, speakers and organizers contribute to this vital event. Participants, too, make a difference with their time and donations, regardless of the amount.
ProZ Giving Tuesday 2024: let's open doors to education
In 2024 we are proud to bring together language professionals, speakers, mentors, and coaches to support a global movement for education.
This year's Giving Tuesday will be presented as a one-day virtual event with a range of engaging topics, including: how to build a strong digital presence and attract a larger online audience, navigating the future of AI in the industry, key interpreting trends to watch in 2025, an introduction to post-editing machine translation, subtitling for beginners, and the incredible impact of volunteering with ProZ Pro Bono.
This event is a great chance to gain valuable insights, learn practical skills, and connect with a community dedicated to education and global impact.
We are thrilled to recognize the fantastic speakers joining us for this virtual event: Andrew Morris, Yuna Guillamot, Giovanna Comollo, Ammar Naif, Fabian Aruquip, Claudia Brauer, Muhammad Amer, Bridget Hylak, and Anastasia Giagopoulou. Their expertise, passion, and dedication are sure to make this event truly inspiring and impactful.
Our focus this year is on raising funds for two incredible organizations:
Born to Learn (BTL). BTL is an association founded with the aim of developing and empowering vulnerable communities in Tanzania. The NGO was founded on the belief that education is a basic human right, no matter where and into which circumstances they are born. Their focus lies on educational inclusion for all children in need, so that they have access to quality education that responds to the unique needs of the communities they operate in.
Children of Rwanda: In western Rwanda, thousands of children are unable to attend school as their families can't afford the cost of schooling. Children of Rwanda is a registered NGO that enables children to return to class and benefit from their universal right to an education in a sustainable way. They do so by working with the parents of these children to increase their household income enough to cover the costs of schooling and without having to rely on external help.
