But first, let’s define what Pastey™ is
Pastey™ is a companion app for professional translators, seamlessly integrating into your translation setup, whether using a CAT tool, MS Office, or other applications. With intuitive keyboard shortcuts, it transforms your source text into AI-powered draft translations. Beyond drafting, Pastey™ offers interactive chat functionalities, allowing you to engage with different LLMs as if conversing with a linguist, copywriter, SEO specialist, social media manager, blog writer, etc.
What’s new in Pastey™?
We've introduced many new features and have published several updates over the course of the past months. Here are some of the most important ones:
- Retranslation Feature: Request alternative translations effortlessly.
- API Integrations: Added support for Claude and Gemini.
- Expanded Access: Now available to all ProZ.com users, members, and business members.
- SSO Login: Simplified login process with single sign-on.
- Keyboard Shortcuts: Streamline your workflow with new shortcuts.
- Model Upgrades: Continuously updated with the latest models of ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude.
- UI Redesign: Simplified and more intuitive user interface.
- Customizable Text Size: Adjust text size to your preference.
- Layout Options: Choose between horizontal or vertical separation as well as light and dark mode.
- Numerous Fixes: Improved stability and performance.
- OpenAI Assistant API: Upload files to your own OpenAI.com account for model tuning and customization.
- Supported file formats: .txt, .pdf, Word .docx, PowerPoint .pptx.
- Set your OpenAI API key in settings to create an AI Assistant and upload files.
- AI Assistant Menu: Create an AI assistant and upload files directly from Pastey™ (one at a time).
- The assistant’s name appears in Pastey’s title bar.
- Context window (Thread) management for seamless continuity.
- Update AI Assistant with new instructions and context from Pastey™ settings.
- Use the general ChatGPT model when no AI Assistant is created.
- “Chat with AI” Feature: Engage in dynamic conversations with AI.
- Keep a long context of previous translations and conversations.
- Answer queries, list keywords, explain terms, and more.
- “Stay Always on Top” Feature: Keep Pastey’s window accessible over other applications (ON by default).
- Persistent Start/Pause Toggle: Remembers the state after restarting.
- Version Notifications: Stay updated with the latest version notifications through ProZ.com API.
- Chat History: Access the last 100 interactions with AI by clicking the “AI chat” button.
- Switch to GPT-4o: Utilizing the latest ChatGPT model.
My personal highlight is that you no longer have to rely on seeing messages about updates in the forum, but you will see in the app when there's a new version available.

Pastey™ was developed and is maintained by the ProZ.com team and is available to our paying membership tiers, and it can be tested by all ProZ.com users. To download Pastey™, visit https://go.proz.com/pastey and select your operating system.
- LLM Options: Choose from ChatGPT (3.5, 4, 4o), Claude, and Gemini (Note: Gemini API not available in EU countries).
- Learning Resources: Visit the AI Forums on ProZ.com for instructional videos, user discussions, and more.
- Cost: Free for Premium and Enterprise members. Plus and Standard members have free access until the end of 2024. Registered users can test for one month.
- Non-Members: Unregistered users can try Pastey™ for two weeks (or 20,000 tokens, whichever is reached first).
- LLM License: No need for your own license; Pastey™ uses ProZ.com’s Enterprise licenses.
