ProZ.com congratulates the community on International Translation Day! Today we celebrate the essential role of language professionals in bridging cultures and connecting people, and their significant impact on supporting communities and fostering global ties.
International Translation Day (ITD) is observed every year on September 30 to highlight the contribution of translators in bringing various cultures together.
Today, language professionals around the world—including translators, interpreters, editors, proofreaders, subtitlers, voiceover talents, transcreators, localizers, and many others—celebrate International Translation Day. This day is an important reminder of how much they and their predecessors have achieved by mastering communication and constantly finding new ways to connect people.
Today, nearly 1,500,000 ProZ.com users will celebrate this cause in 553 different languages! Thanks to these languages, we can support our communities, foster intercultural conversations, improve lives and protect our shared world. It is in translators' nature to understand the nuances of language and communicate ideas naturally in their respective languages. They bring color to life, expand the boundaries of knowledge and go beyond just delivering a message. Only they can truly feel and pass on those layers of meaning that make communication so much more than words.
So many roads crossed in fancy ways to bring all those nice people to the conclusion that languages it is something they would love to work with in their lives. Lucky circumstances, dynasty traditions or a pursuit to try something new, allowed language professionals to join this noble profession that helps to change the world.
